The Left Path

-Proverbs 1:7
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction."
Once while traveling with a friend of mine and chatting about life and fun times, I unknowingly took a wrong turn on a west Texas road. I went almost 80 miles before I saw a sign that alarmed me of just how lost I was. I had to turn around and go all the way back, wasting precious time. Something similar happened to me spiritually in the mid 70’s, only it consumed 20 years of my life (unfortunately this happens to millions each year).
After about two decades of stumbling over false religion and error, I came to discover the truth. In the mid 90’s I fell on my face in horror that I was wrong about all that mattered. On my knees I prayed and told God that I just wanted the truth, no matter how bad I looked or how much error I had to face. If I lost all my friends and family and even my life, it did not matter, as I was tired of being on the wrong road. Taking the wrong road in itself might seem like it would be easy to spot, but so often our hearts betray us and tell us things that are not true. Just as the bible says:
Jeremiah 17:9-10
"The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings."
You know it reminds me of some of things we see in our day now. For example, have you ever watched any of those shows called "Intervention" or how about that new game show called "To Tell The Truth?" Those 2 shows say a lot about the human heart and the condition that we find ourselves in.
The show Intervention is about how families try to help there drug addicted family members by getting them into rehab. It amazes me that being outside of the situation that we can see exactly what is going wrong and what needs to be done, but those on the inside are just blinded by thier love for that person. It is the same way with us. Even though we lie, cheat, steal, want what our neighbors have, and we use God's name as a word to show disgust we still do not see the need for God in our lives. Its as if we are blinded to what is really going on in our own hearts.
The bible has a lot to say about us and our sinful nature. While we try to do the best we can ultimitaly it will fall completely short of what God's standards are which is perfection. This section of the site is dedicated to the Left Path. Here you will find out what the bible says about some of the most comon thoughts about who we are as people and how we tend to look at things. It is important that we stop and see whether these things are true or not.
But be warned that if you choose to continue down this path, the consequences could be fatal and worst of all you can end up were you thought you were never going to go.
BE WARNED!!

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
"And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
